What is Jesus inviting me to in the coming months and years? Is now the time to explore the world afresh, to discern my contribution to creating a new normal that resembles a little more the Kingdom of God? the place of shalom, of righteousness, peace and justice?
So much in life has been impacted by Covid-19, everywhere and for everyone. For me personally, safely in Australia with few infections, savings in the bank and no shortage of food, there have been myriad little inconveniences. For many friends here, and especially in Asia, Europe and North America it’s been life-threatening and financially disastrous, pushing millions deeper into poverty.
The world is changed, and the territory ahead is unknown to us. Old ways of doing life need to be revised. As followers of Jesus, we are still following the same leader, but the surroundings are different.
Come, join us for a few months immersed in the lives of people existing on the edge of survival, in the informal urban settlements of Asia. Hear their stories first hand, share in their joys and struggles. Meet Jesus in unexpected places and people. Allow the Spirit to kindle your love and passion for God’s purposes, on earth as in heaven.
