We are pleased to announce that we have chosen a new logo after more than a year of careful work and more than 200 proposed logos from about 100 designers.

The challenge was to come up with an image that would reflect our unique ethos.

The new logo is rich with significance and meaning.  It is subtle, long-lasting and reflects many aspects of our ethos.  Here is a summary of the different design features:

….the hanging font hints at an Asian or Indian script.

….with no capitals, it suggests humility and simplicity and the simple hand-drawn lines of the slum symbolise our grassroots, relational approach (from below rather than top down).

…the two-tone mud-brown colour and ‘faded-paint’ effect reflect our location amongst the poor in Asia or at the grassroots.

…a simple line across the top communicates care and support and could be a cross without being overtly Christian (for senstive contexts).

…the rising sun adds a note of hope and transformation.

So, what do you think?  Leave your comments below.
