‘Living and Sharing the Story

Book by Charles Ringma

Charles Ringma has been a friend of Servants for decades. He and his wife Rita were with the team in Manila for years in the 90s, during which Charles also taught at ATS. Charles has been an elder for Servants and a constant supporter from the sidelines. In a sense, Charles has been our resident theologian. He’s not only taught many of our folk directly at ATS, but has written over 30 books, many of which have been deeply encouraging for our workers.

Often Charles writes on the theme of the spirituality of loving the poor. Charles’ latest offering Living and Sharing the Story is the 1st of a four part series which explores what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Charles suggests that means “we are both blessed by Christ and also given tasks by Christ.” The Series is aimed not only at those of us who have been on the journey for a while, but also at those who are beginning to explore what being a disciple looks like in our broken world. In this the 1st part of the series, Charles specifically explores, “how God is seeking to impact and renew our world and also highlights how we can be good news to others.”

As an extra sign of Charles’ deep regard for Servants, Living and Sharing the Story is dedicated to our dear friend, and long time Servant, Kristin Jack, who passed away almost 3 years ago.

Living and Sharing the Story – Being Good News for the World, was published in May by Wifp and Stock. As with all of Charles’ books, we’d recommend it!
