They came, they saw, they partied! Orphans, local pastors, volunteers, friends, community leaders, government officials all turned out to celebrate the official launch of TASK and handover of Servants projects to our Cambodian counterparts on October 1st.

Servants came to Cambodia over ten years ago with a dream: to raise up a committed team of godly Cambodian Christians who would work together to see the slums of the city transformed by the power of Christ.

This dream moved another step forward as we officially handed over much of the ministry to our Cambodian counterparts (calling themselves TASK) at a big celebration on Friday night.

The evening was topped off by two traditional blessing dances performed by the new Project HALO dance troupe and two songs written and sung by the TASK staff.

The handover ceremony itself was very moving as we expats placed garlands of flowers around the necks of our 20 Cambodian staff to symbolize the authority and anointing of God on them.

Please pray for our Cambodian friends in TASK as they move into leadership and continue to serve the urban poor.

Servants expats will continue to minister amongst the poor in Cambodia alongside TASK. We are looking for new people to join us in this exciting new phase.
