Southall, Sat 25th Sept 2010 10:30-16:30

Guest Speaker, Scott Bessenecker (Author of The New Friars and How to Inherit the Earth)

scottScott Bessenecker is on the Board of Elders of Servants.  Each year Scott helps send over 2000 university students to nearly every continent on earth as the associate director of missions for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.  Scott has written from a holistic Christian perspective for publications like Relevant and Mission Maker magazines and edited the book Quest for Hope in the Slum Community. His active weblog is at www.thenewfriars.com.

Scott will sharing thoughts from his latest book, How to Inherit the Earth in a workshop entitled "Following and the Death of Comparison" Following a Saviour like Jesus can be both exciting and challenging; it will most certainly get us into trouble! But comparison with others will almost always get us off track and scuttle any decent attempts at following closely. Jesus has a unique place for you to fill, we must learn to hear his voice and follow regardless of others.

At this workshop day you will also be able to join with others interested in participating in a Servants Internship, find out more about Servants and how our biblical principles can be lived out here in UK, meet members of our Southall team, and discuss and pray with others on the journey.

Optional: Servants UK AGM, 17:00-17:30
